The Dodgers were dealt a blow today when it was revealed that 20-year old pitching phenom Julio Urias will require anterior capsule surgery on his pitching shoulder.
Anterior anterior capsule surgery is serious for a pitcher, certainly threatening pitcher's careers. Can only hope for best for Julio Urias

Unfortunately I know what Julio Urias is going through. I went from low 90s and post op low 80s with my pitching career over.

Needless to say, this is a very serious operation and from the sounds of things, it could have long-term implications. It’s worth noting that Johan Santana had this surgery in 2010 and his career was essentially over. However, no two players are the same and Santana was 31 years old at the time.
We wish all the best to Julio Urias and hope to see him back healthy on the field in 2018.
